The Junction 72A MRC turns 2!
I would just like to thank everybody who has turned up over the past two years to the club. Whether you help out every week or just turn up for some fun, we would never have got this far without you.
Much has changed over the past year, apologies for the lack of updates but college and social life took me away from the website, however I am back now and college is almost ending so more updates should be more regular.
Priory Junction (our main OO gauge layout) has seen some major changes to the entrance to the station to make it easier and better to access the depot from yard behind the station. All the trackwork has now laid and most of the ballasting is complete. The main control pannel from which we will be able to control all the point, signals and isolated sections (on the DC side) is starting to take shape with all the isolated sections being feed back into it. None of the points have point motors fitted yet (except at the top of the branch for controlling the auto-reverse) as we want to get it all working fine first. Talking about the reversing loop, it now has both low level (DCC) and high level (DC) loops attached and is working. This means that a train can now leave the main station and arrive back into it again without having to reverse at the end of the board. The reversing board is only a semi-permanent board so it can be taken down easily and will not have any scenery added to it.
Exeter Central (our main N gauge layout) has taken rapid shape and now has all the legs attached so it can stand up on its own, and not rely on the tables in the middle of the room like before. The majority of the track has been laid and is mostly wired up for full DCC control. Half of the layout is now working and each week the another board is wired up and connected on so it wont be long before the other half is up and working. The only area yet to planned and for the track work to be laid is the engine shed which shall be based on (with a bit of modelers license) the Southern region shed, Exmouth Junction which was situated next to our club building and where the club takes its name from.
Once again thank you to all who have helped out over the past year and here to a more to come.
Thanks
